Utrecht’s ‘restaurant street’ has gained an Indonesian addition since January.

Indonesian cuisine
Everything revolves around rames at this small establishment, which means ‘mixing together’. You can choose your own selection of fish, meat and vegetable dishes. This way, you create your own rijsttafel. Naturally, you finish it off with seroendeng and fried banana.

To start, you can choose between six different appetisers. And don’t skip the satay, such as the kambing (goat) or the prawn version. The rijsttafel is available in different sizes. You can order up to seven different side dishes. If you’re still craving something sweet, there’s a pancake filled with coconut and chocolate. Or spekkoek, of course, with coffee.
