Tiger Mama is Asian in the broadest sense of the wordAt the restaurant on Utrecht’s Voorstraat, you can enjoy a changing ten-course menu from Monday to Wednesday for €22.50. That’s €2.25 per course, just sayin’. The menu consists of small, street-food-style dishes from Eastern cuisine. You won’t just eat Japanese food there, but also, for example, Thai and Chinese dishes. In addition to the menu, you can also order sushi and dim sum à la carte at Tiger Mama. Order a glass of wine or an Asian beer with your meal; personally, we’re a little less enthusiastic about the cocktails.

Four different spaces

At Tiger Mama, it’s not just the food that makes you happy, but the interior too. The building consists of four spaces, each with its own character. The dining area by the bar has a luxurious feel thanks to the comfortable green velvet chairs and benches. A little further on, there’s a completely different, somewhat more minimalist atmosphere. At the high tables by the kitchen, you’re surrounded by neon lights, white walls and illustrated tiger heads on the wall. Tiger Mama also has a pink sushi cellar and a cosy courtyard garden, our personal favourite.
