The neighborhood around Hugo de Grootplein in Amsterdam is so lovely. The FavorFlav editorial team enjoys sipping a gin and tonic at Razmataz, which always makes us hungry. Luckily, YamYam is just around the corner, serving delicious pizzas.

Our favorite is the YamYam pizza. It’s topped with tomato sauce, mascarpone, ham and truffle cream. After baking, they sprinkle some arugula on top. Not exactly light, admittedly, but hey, we’re eating pizza anyway. The crust is thin and crispy and baked in a wood-fired oven. From your little red chair, you can watch the pizza maker busily prepare all the orders. It’s always busy, but usually you can still find a seat. You can also take the pizza home.

Not in the mood for truffle and all that? There are also more classic varieties, with salami, for example. But they use genuinely good salami. Not those huge slices, but deliciously seasoned, small pieces. No overpowering garlic flavor here to knock out your palate, as happens at many pizzerias.  Add a glass of vino and you can easily eat for under 20 euros.
