Nothing grows on Mars yet, but what if we want to live there someday? Someone has thought about that.

We would almost forget the most important question, but what do you eat when you are on the planet Mars? The answer seems to have been found: potatoes. Research is still being conducted into which potato variety grows best in the extraterrestrial soil. It also has to be a tasty one, so that space travelers can enjoy flavorful mashed potatoes, chips and fries. But how they will connect the deep fryer there…

Cooking with milk powder

It may be sitting at the very back of your pantry, a bag of milk powder. It would be a shame to leave it there, because this ingredient makes everything creamier, richer and fuller. For example, you can make hot chocolate by adding only water and cocoa. It also makes dough, ice cream and sauces creamier. If you don’t have any at home yet, you can find it with the baking products at the supermarket. By the way, don’t confuse it with powder intended for your coffee.

The WayCap

The Italians have an idea: coffee from a capsule, but fresh. In Italy, espresso is sacred, and they want to know what is in a coffee capsule. With this invention we also save mountains of waste, but that aside. How does it work? The capsules are made of steel and can be refilled endlessly with freshly ground coffee beans. Advantages of the WayCap: ten times cheaper than regular capsules, and you can use the used coffee grounds to fertilize your houseplants. Also handy: they fit in your Nespresso.
