Ramen & chill

The combination of screens and food is a familiar one and tried and tested. Netflix & chill, the eternal snacks at the cinema… and now you can eat ramen at the cinema too.

At LAB111, they show thought-provoking arthouse films that, according to them, ‘spark the imagination, encourage reflection and inspire’. Tampopo is one of them.

A Japanese western

Tampopo is about a Japanese noodle shop that has been doing very poorly since the owner’s death. The widow Tampopo has taken over the business, and her noodles aren’t very tasty. What to do? A truck driver who notices this too decides to help Tampopo, and together they set out in search of the perfect ramen.

Strangelove

LAB111 also has a restaurant in the building: Strangelove. You would want to eat here simply because of the name. But there’s an extra reason, because you can buy a combo ticket for the film Tampopo and a bowl of steaming ramen. You’ve probably worked up an appetite from what you saw on the big screen anyway, so just go for it.

You can choose between pork or vegetarian ramen, with a glass of sake from Nosawa Amsterdam on the side.

Ramen party
