Besides being delicious, cheese is also a miracle food. Because did you know that eating cheese before bed can contribute to a better night’s sleep? Researchers at a university in Texas have discovered that the substance spermidine, found in many types of cheese, helps prevent the division of damaged liver cells and significantly reduces liver fibrosis, cardiovascular disease and HCC, the most common form of liver cancer. Another cheese board?
Because besides all these benefits, the substance spermidine also increases life expectancy. Although the study was only conducted on mice, the results are certainly promising for humans. A quarter of the mice that were given the substance lived longer than the animals that did not receive it. And which cheese is best to eat? Brie, blue cheeses, Parmesan, cheddar and some types of mozzarella in particular contain spermidine.
