Scantily clad service staff

Hooters is so 1999, in China you can now order shrimp at a seafood restaurant that are peeled by scantily clad women.

Having your waitstaff work in bikinis is of course rather vulgar, but it is also the perfect way to attract attention to your new restaurant. And that is necessary in Shenyang, because competition is fierce due to the high number of food-service establishments in the city.

Hygiene is substandard at thirty percent of food trucks in Los Angeles.  Because of the very limited space in food trucks, there is a high chance of cross-contamination between different pans, knives and other cooking utensils. As a result, bacteria spread quickly. And of course, this is not only the case in L.A. Thirty percent may not seem that high, but of the restaurants located in regular buildings, only five percent do not have their affairs in order.

Danish meat tax

Denmark is considering introducing a meat tax to tackle climate change. Livestock produces approximately one-tenth of global emissions. According to a think tank advising the Danish government, we are therefore obliged to adjust our eating habits and consume less meat. The World Health Organization previously warned about the carcinogenic properties of red meat.
