Sugar cane from Nicaragua, fresh tomatoes from Morocco and red peppers from Thailand. Have you ever stopped to think about the people who work hard all over the world to provide our food? If not, you can perhaps do so now with #sendsomelove, a Valentine’s Day initiative by Fair Food.

Fair Food is an organisation that works hard for a sustainable food system. This means they strive for a system in which people can work and live with dignity, the environment is respected, and there is social and economic value for everyone. They also ask supermarkets and companies in the food industry to provide fair wages and decent working conditions.

What did Fair Food come up with? You can show your gratitude in a really fun way by sending a digital card to one of those hard-working people. The organisation will then distribute printed copies of the cards to workers in Morocco, Thailand and Nicaragua at the end of February. The cards show them that there are people who care about their fate.
