Skinny gin and tonics

Admit it: once you start drinking, you can easily get through two bottles of wine, fifteen beers or ten gin and tonics. The more you drink, the less you think about the calories you’re knocking back. Still want to outsmart those excess kilos? We have the tip for you.

Fever Tree Naturally Light is just what you need. Okay, this great tip didn’t come from me, but from our lovely publisher and avid gin and tonic fan Ewart. He stocks up on this low-calorie drink by the pallet, so he always has a ‘skinny’ drink to mix with his Hendrick’s.

Fifteen calories

Each bottle contains a mere fifteen calories, making a gin and tonic a better choice than a craft beer, glass of wine or piña colada. At least if you want to keep the calories in check. The best part? Most diet soft drinks are undrinkable, while with Fever Tree Naturally Light you don’t notice at all that you’re consuming fewer calories.

Balance

You know what you need to do. Stock up on plenty of bottles, your favourite type of gin, cucumber and a large bag of ice cubes. Invite all your friends over and drink endless gin and tonics, then you’ll still have plenty of room for a few bitterballen. In the end, it’s all about balance, right?
