Long, convivial evenings with friends, wine and delicious food. And the Pizzotti, an outdoor fireplace that keeps you warm and lets you bake pizzas in it.

The Black Bastard and the Big Green Egg? You know them by now.

The new hot kid in town is the Pizzotti, an outdoor fireplace you can cook with. This sturdy appliance looks like an old-fashioned wood-burning stove, but when you open it, there’s a stone inside that lets you bake pizzas in a minute and a half. How is that possible? Thanks to the heat of the chamotte stone, around 350 to 400 degrees Celsius, the base becomes wonderfully crispy. The hot airflow in the Pizzotti is directed across the entire pizza, resulting in a perfectly baked specimen. According to the makers, you should preferably burn birch and ash wood.

Lovely and warm

Besides baking pizzas, you can use it for barbecuing, grilling, baking and smoking. Think large pieces of rib-eye and salmon steaks, or bake your own bread. An added benefit? The stove radiates heat all around up to a height of approximately 1.20 metres. And because of the length of the chimney, your clothes won’t smell so much of smoke. The material of the fireplace is, of course, heat-resistant, so it stays looking good for a long time.

At the moment, the Pizzotti is available, among other places, at Duikelman, Oldenhof and Concrete Matter. Your love of outdoor cooking needs to be considerable (as does your wallet), because the complete appliance costs € 1633,-, while the slightly less extensive version is available for € 1398,-.
