Tattoo with your dish

Do you always spend your money on food and therefore never have any money for a tattoo? Restaurant Dim Dining in Antwerp has the solution: ‘If the tattoo is on you, the dish is on us.’

Yes, you read that right: if you get a tattoo, you get the corresponding dish for free. As a promotional stunt for his restaurant, Chef Dimitri Proost had part of the menu translated into Japanese tattoos. You can choose from 19 different dishes, and therefore 19 matching tattoos, available in six different styles.

Sashimi tattoo

Instead of ‘ordinary’ Japanese tattoos that stand for ‘hope’, ‘courage’ or ‘love’, you can now have ‘crispy duck salad’, ‘sea bass sashimi’ or another Japanese dish immortalised on your body.

To be in with a chance of getting one of these tattoos, you have to register and explain why you would so dearly like to have ‘chicken oyster’ tattooed on your lower back. The restaurant will then select from the entries. The promotion runs until and including 31 May 2018. The tattoos will be done at Glorybound in Antwerp, where the chef is a regular customer himself. Afterwards, you can go and try the corresponding dish.
