The best cookbooks according to Janny

For our editorial neighbor Franska.nl, Janny van der Heijden writes a weekly column about what keeps her busy in the culinary world. We like that. So much so, in fact, that we want you to read it too. This week, a particularly lovely topic: what were the best cookbooks this year?

Stacks and stacks of cookbooks are published every year. Dutch-language and translated cookbooks. With such huge numbers, sometimes you can no longer see the wood for the trees. I already told you last week that the five of us (Jonnah Freed from De Kookboekenwinkel, Makkie Mukler, former editor-in-chief of Delicious magazine, bookseller Daan van der Valk and author Ronald Giphart) chose a Dutch top five from the past year. Not an easy task, because more than sixty books had been submitted from the Netherlands and Belgium. But before Cookbook Week starts on November 9, I would therefore really like to give you a few more tips about books that are also inspiring but just missed out on the top five.
