With their own production company, Higher Ground, Barack and Michelle Obama are going to produce a Netflix series about food for children. And the title already promises a lot.

Listen to Your Vegetables & Eat Your Parents is being made with the help of comedy writers Jeremy Konner and Erika Thormahlen. Konner is also one of the creative minds behind Drunk History, a popular American comedy series on Comedy Channel.

What is the series about?

Unfortunately, little is known yet about Listen to Your Vegetables & Eat Your Parents. It will take young children and their parents on a journey around the world and introduce them to food and the story behind it. The episodes will last half an hour. It is not yet known what format the program will take.

The Obamas have been working to make children more aware of healthy food for some time. Michelle had her Let’s Move campaign to encourage children and families to exercise and stop eating junk food, and she ran various projects in schools and on television to promote healthier eating habits among children. So it is no total surprise that the Obamas are producing this show.

And much more

It is not yet known when the series will appear on Netflix. What is known is that the former president and his wife are making six other Netflix productions: a film about Frederick Douglass, one of the first advocates of the abolition of slavery; a fictional fashion series about New York before the Second World War; and they are working on several documentaries.
