The Village: coffee and music

The Village in Utrecht: great coffee, rugged interior and bearded baristas.

Everything about the Village is top-notch: the coffee, the atmosphere, lovely people, good music, snacks and breakfast.  Oh, and don’t forget the décor. Combine that with the fact that there’s a place where you can work or study or relax with friends, and you’ve got a great spot.

The Village on Voorstraat
For the latter option, head to Utrecht city centre. You can relax on the sofa with coffee and a newspaper while waiting for a simple but tasty breakfast, or share a slice of cake with friends alongside a cappuccino.

If you’re lucky, you’ll sometimes find a live band playing in the small café. If you want to take this into account beforehand, you can check Facebook to see which events have been created.

The Village at De Uithof
Those hardworking people who regularly want to get to work with their laptop in a coffee shop can head to De Uithof. The space is large, there is WiFi — unlike on Voorstraat — and upon entering, in keeping with the Village’s style, a huge orca skeleton hangs above your head.
