Vegan Junk Food Bar
The Vegan Junk Food Bar proves that vegan doesn’t automatically mean ‘healthy’. Because junk food is junk food. VJFB now has four locations in Amsterdam and one in Rotterdam. In my opinion, the burgers here are just as good as ones with ‘real’ meat, which is quite an achievement. And even better: I actually like the bitterballen here better than the standard bitterbal! Ooh, and that kapsalon here… And the salmon sashimi, which is almost indistinguishable from real salmon based on looks alone. Yes, I’m a fan. Of the hysterical interior too.
FOAM
Fun breakfast and lunch spot in The Hague with a huge, extensive menu. And yes, everything is vegan. From tempeh bacon, chocolate chip & vanilla pancakes (so delicious) and quesadillas. No idea how they do it, but everything tastes so good here.

Oproer Brouwerij
Well, I almost always associate eating out with a glass of wine or a (specialty) beer, so this is a concept close to my heart. The name says it all: they brew their own beer here, so beer it is with your vegan dinner. As for the food, they change the menu about every month, with everything being vegan and organic. It’s very impressive that they manage to put together an exciting menu every time, with good and, above all, delicious dishes.

LOFF
The ideal spot in Breda for a cup of coffee with a slice of cake, a quick lunch, tasty drinks snacks and dinner. They cook entirely according to the philosophy of natural food, which means pure, local, seasonal and fair products. You used to serve yourself from the buffet, but now they work with a menu. And it’s full of delicious things, such as beet carpaccio and vegan cheese fondue.

Exactly how many people still think about vegan food: rabbit food. That’s already a plus for their self-deprecating humor. And they serve anything but rabbit food here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have small dishes to share, and definitely start with one of the drinks snacks.
Deer Mama
From the same people behind DopHert (in the Spaarndammerbuurt, Amsterdam — also a vegan recommendation), very Instagrammable and also very tasty. Burgers or salads and lots of delicious (and very filling) types of milkshakes. The interior looks like an American diner and is sugary sweet pink. Love it.

So. Much. Delicious. Pastry. I personally think the bakery in Rotterdam is the best tip, where they serve all-day breakfast and prepare all their pastries, but by now it has become quite a big ‘brand’ with points of sale throughout the Netherlands. De Herbivoor
The lunch spot to be in Groningen. They call themselves an ‘organic vegan salad bar’, but there’s much more than salads available. Burgers, wraps and pancakes are also on the menu, and desserts (or something sweet in between) haven’t been forgotten either. Healthy lunch and super delicious.
Mastino V
Pizza is life. I honestly couldn’t live without pizza. Margherita, quattro formaggio, tartufo: I want it all. And pizza probably isn’t the first dish you think of when you’re going for a vegan dinner, but seriously: try these pizzas. This vegan cheese is incredibly tasty, and that’s saying something, because it almost never works. Hello, they even have a vegan cheese board. I love this vegan hotspot.

Broei
100% vegetarian and partly vegan: so check the menu carefully. Every month, the kitchen comes up with eight dishes and two desserts, so you won’t get bored with the food here anytime soon. A homely atmosphere complete with bookcase and chill-out sofa, plus a front garden; very nice. You can also sit here undisturbed with your laptop at the long table if you need to work somewhere for a while.
