These are the 20 best Albert Heijn own-brand products
It takes place every year: the competition in which supermarket own brands are assessed by a panel of consumers. Albert Heijn won big this year. No fewer than 20 own-brand products were named ‘Own-Brand Product of the Year’. The winners include non-food, long-life and fresh products: from AH Power all-in 1 lemon dishwasher capsules and AH Cola regular to AH Japanese noodle meal salad with scrambled egg.
As mentioned, the awards were based on the assessments of consumers who extensively tested a variety of products.
AH Chopped Fresh Pack gado gado
Own-brand products, also known as supermarket brands, are often somewhere at the bottom of the shelf, but bending down is worth it, because own-brand products are often good quality and considerably more affordable. That does not mean that all products are cheap, though. One of the ‘convenience and affordability’ winners is, for example, the AH Chopped Fresh Pack gado gado, for which you still have to buy two eggs yourself, and such a pack costs you almost 7 euros.
