Sipping a glass of the finest champagne by the crystal-clear blue sea: it’s the dream of the average luxury lover. And for around €300, you can make it come true by booking an exclusive champagne dinner on a cruise ship. Excluding the cost of the cruise itself, that is…

The organization Oceania Cruises is known for its luxury trips, on which it serves the very best food. Celebrity chef Jaques Pépin has always been closely involved with the organization, but now they’re taking it a step further. Oceania Cruises has entered into an exclusive partnership with the prestigious champagne brand Dom Pérignon.

Vintage champagnes

Visitors to the Marina and Riviera cruise ships, which accommodate 1,250 guests, can now reserve an exclusive dinner during their luxurious holiday. For €300, you get a six-course menu with three vintage champagnes: Dom Pérignon 2009, Dom Pérignon 2006 and Dom Pérignon 2004. Each vintage is paired with two courses.

Lobster, truffle, wagyu and gold leaf

And what do you get to eat? Only the most expensive of the expensive, of course. The menu includes lobster, truffle risotto with gold leaf and wagyu steak, among other dishes. Naturally, the €300 comes on top of the price of the cruise, which isn’t exactly cheap either. A 22-day trip from Dubai to Rome costs around €4,000, while a 14-day journey from New York to London will set you back about €3,000. You can probably squeeze in that little dinner too, right?

Winery

The luxury dinner takes place only once per voyage, and with just 24 spots available, making a reservation is quite difficult. If you do manage to get one, expect dramatically set tables with black leather, black linen and Dom Pérignon glasses. The dining room is transformed to resemble the winery. Perhaps a little vulgar, but hey: whatever floats your boat.
