This Is the Most Addictive Cake Ever
The Ecstacy Cake is the latest craze on Pinterest. And no, don’t worry: there’s no actual ecstasy in it. It is just at least as addictive. Once you’ve made the cake, you can’t stop eating and baking it.
Admit it: you were curious when you read the title, even though you never use drugs. We were too when we came across the Pinterest trend, but honestly: there’s absolutely no-nada-nothing ecstasy in it. And that’s probably for the best.
Poke cakes
They are basically glorified poke cakes. These are cakes in which you poke holes using the handle of a wooden spoon. The sauce you pour over the holes creates a sticky texture that infuses the entire cake with caramel flavor. That’s why we call it Ecstacy Cake.
Here’s how to make it:
1. Make a standard chocolate cake (in this case, you can skip the step with the plate). Once the cake is done, let it cool thoroughly and use the handle of a wooden spoon to make holes in the cake.
2. Mix sweetened condensed milk with caramel and pour it over the entire cake. Let it soak in for fifteen minutes.
3. Whip fresh cream with a whisk and spread it over the top of the cake. For the final step, sprinkle it with your favorite chopped chocolate snack (e.g. KitKat or M&M’s), and your calorie bomb is ready.
