This is the secret ingredient for the creamiest mashed potatoes

Mashed potatoes are truly the ultimate comfort food for me. But to be completely honest, I used to regularly use ready-made mashed potatoes or the kind (don’t be shocked) from a packet of powder. Yikes, scandalous, I know. These days I always make them myself, and since I started adding this one ingredient, they’ve become so much more delicious.

That ingredient makes your mashed potatoes even creamier and gives the flavor more depth and richness. A win-win, then. And it is… cream cheese! And… if you happen to be feeling lazy; you can also add cream cheese if you’re going for a ready-made version after all.
How to use cream cheese in mashed potatoes
Use about 100 grams per kilogram of potatoes and you’ll be just right. Before adding it to the potatoes, mix this cream cheese with 1/3 cup of cream and three tablespoons of butter. You’re probably already using those ingredients in your mashed potatoes anyway, but now you first mix them with the cream cheese until they form a smooth mixture.
Mash the potatoes as you normally would, and gradually add your cream cheese mixture. Of course, you still need to add salt and pepper to taste afterward, but then you’ll seriously have the most delicious mashed potatoes ever. Give it a try.
