That’s where you can do your organic shopping cheapest, according to the well-known grocery test by consumer affairs programme Kassa.

While you pay €39.25 for a basket containing twenty organic products (think potatoes, eggs, jam, etc.), at Ekoplaza it costs you over sixteen euros more: €56.07, to be precise. Thanks to its large range, Ekoplaza does offer by far the widest choice. At Lidl (and Aldi, which comes second at €40.14), you usually only have one option.

Moreover, in response to the test, Ekoplaza stated that it imposes far more requirements on its products than other supermarkets. What is sold as organic there is the minimum standard for Ekoplaza.

The full results (click on the price to see what was bought with it):

    1. Lidl €39.25
    2. Aldi €40.14
    3. Jumbo €43.26
    4. Plus €43.84
    5. Albert Heijn €45.10
