This week: Struik

Two cool things at Café Struik in Amsterdam this week. It’s fried chicken week, after all, running until Sunday, when our own managing editor Marieke will be cooking.

Fried chicken
From January 25 through 28, the fried chicken week is on. That means different types of fried chicken, namely traditional, Korean and chipotle barbecue. They are served with, among other things, sweet potato purée, coleslaw and homemade pickles. Is it dinnertime yet?

Flemish stew
On Sunday, the chicken will make way for hopefully competition-winning fries with Flemish stew. Every Sunday, a different team cooks a dish that the guests rate. At the end of the series, a winner will emerge, and hopefully that will be FavorFlav’s Marieke and partner in crime Dia.
