Troost Brewery brews beer in an old monastery in De Pijp and behind an immense glass wall at the Westergas site in Amsterdam.

Beer

Brewing beer is the core business, and you can taste it. We have several favorite beers. Honingblond is a robust blonde beer (7%) that we can’t get enough of. Smoked Porter is a dark beer in which the roasted and smoked malts provide sweetness and a hint of bacon. A beer after our own heart. Lentebier is delicious too: bittersweet and full of flavor.

Hamburgers

If you want to keep your hangover somewhat under control, you’d better eat something between beers. Fortunately, Troost can cook burgers like the best of them. For around € 11, you can eat a mega burger. ‘The Classic’ is always a good choice: a Blonde d’Aquitaine burger (a Dutch cattle breed) with cheddar, bacon, piccalilly mayo and jalapeños on a brioche bun. ‘The Veggie’ is amazing. This burger is made with lentils, quinoa, mushrooms and Parmesan, topped with avocado and Sriracha truffle mayo. I don’t know any other place where non-vegetarians choose the veggie burger time and time again.

Classics

In addition to burgers, other classics are served. Try spareribs with garlic and BBQ sauce. Or ‘Loaded Nachos’ from the oven (with pulled pork, red onion, olives, cheddar, jalapeños, guacamole, crème fraîche and salsa). The salt-cod croquettes are also excellent.
