Tuinen van West Fest

A late-summer festival with lots of delicious food on the outskirts of Amsterdam—of course, a party like that sounds like music to our ears.

Just outside the ring road, yet at the same time right in the middle of nature, the festival celebrates the local harvest with special products, a market and cooking workshops.
Workshops
Various workshops are held in De Keuken. The Wilde Chefs can teach you how to milk a cow or how to bake your own bread and pizzas. De Kaskantine teaches you how to work with ancient cooking techniques such as smoking, stewing, braising and fermenting.
Children
Your children will probably be the happiest people on earth if you take them to this festival. Besides food, you can also build huts, attend a children’s theatre performance or learn how to start an insect hotel. If you are secretly also very curious about setting up accommodation for insects—which I can well imagine—just join the workshop. I’m sure that’s allowed.
Winning
Another reason to go to this festival: you can win a night away for two in one of the ecological lodges floating in the middle of Tuinen van West. Spending a night in nature and waking up to a view that leaves you speechless sounds wonderful to us. You can win such an overnight stay during the festival. Read here what exactly you need to do.
Tuinen van West Fest takes place on Sunday, 1 October, from 12:00 to 18:00 at Polderheuvel on Joris van den Berghweg in Amsterdam.
