Two New Vegetarian Options at McDonald’s

The veggie burger will have to make way, but fortunately McDonald’s is meeting us halfway with not one, but two new vegetarian burgers. Make room for the McChicken Veggie and the Homestyle Crispy Chicken Veggie.

Valess
The two burgers are not vegan, like the veggie burger, but they are vegetarian. The McChicken and the Homestyle Crispy Chicken contain exactly the same ingredients as the non-vegetarian versions, minus the chicken and bacon, of course. The vegetarian substitute for chicken is made from dairy, seaweed and fibres. The burgers are supplied by vegetarian products manufacturer Valess.

Not Just for Vegetarians
The burgers are not only for the vegetarians among us, but also for anyone who simply doesn’t feel like eating meat for a change. According to McDonald’s, this is happening more and more often: people are eating less and less meat, which is why the burgers are being added to the menu permanently.
Available from Today
From now on, 28 August, you can order the vegetarian McChicken and Homestyle Crispy Chicken at almost all locations in the Netherlands and at the McDrive.
