Vegan mayo fraud
Hampton Creek, an American company that produces vegan mayonnaise, has committed fraud. The company’s employees were used to purchase large quantities of jars of the company’s own mayonnaise brand in order to inflate its sales figures.

According to its own claims, Hampton Creek sells healthier and cheaper products in which eggs are replaced by plant-based ingredients.
Extremely high sales
Due to the extremely high sales figures, the company appeared to be very successful and managed to raise $220 million in investments, including from Bill Gates. The fraud was brought to light by a Bloomberg investigation. The US government is now conducting a large-scale investigation into the company’s unusual practices.
