Where Did Neil and Samuel L. Eat?

When international stars visit our capital for performances or film shoots, until recently they mainly headed to the coffeeshop ASAP. These days, you see them eating at the city’s hip eateries. Such as actor Samuel L. Jackson and rock legend Neil Young.

While 70-year-old Neil Young was singing and shredding like a star on his guitar at Ziggo Dome, Samuel L. Jackson was relaxing over a meal at the Asian restaurant Izakaya. The Pulp Ficton actor was in the capital last week to shoot the new action film The Hitman’s Bodyguard. And you have to eat, don’t you?
Rockin’ Neil
The night before, rockin’ Neil was spotted with his wife, actress Daryl Hannah, at the vegetarian-vegan restaurant Meatless District, which had opened less than a month earlier.
And that’s no surprise, because both environmental activists also regularly scour their hometown of Los Angeles for new and vegan food.
While Neil Young opted for vegan, Samuel L. Jackson ate neo-Asian.
During Saturday’s concert (9 July 2016), the farmer and his land were celebrated in various songs from Young’s recent album The Monsanto Years, subtitled: No GMO (a reference to American genetically modified seed monopolist Monsanto).
Future Food
But that wasn’t all: in the entrance to the concert hall, there were information stands about the future of the farmer and our food. Moreover, the 200-minute concert began with female farmers sowing seeds on stage, only to spray them after a few songs with enormous so-called clouds of poison.
Hopefully those ‘clouds of poison’ didn’t affect the cherries, one of which Neil regularly popped into his mouth during his performance…
