Thirsty tales

Why you should give Canei a second chance (hint: botanicals)

Canei cocktail

Canei, who didn’t grow up with it? The drink that many people knocked back plenty of in their younger years is back (even though it never really left). The classic is launching a number of Botanicals and a 0% variety.

Don’t we all know a glass of Canei? Yes, you too—don’t be so snobbish. Since 1975, countless liters of the frizzante have been knocked back; its sweeter taste and light fizz make it particularly approachable and popular. And because it is lower in alcohol than many other wines, Canei is also ideal for people who want to drink something cheerful while having less alcohol.

Canei Botanicals

The new Canei Botanicals are low in alcohol and available in three varieties: a fresh Lemon & Ginger, a cheerful Peach & Hibiscus and the spicy Canei Orange & Spices (8.5%).

Here’s a tip for making Canei extra festive: try making a Raspberry Bellini. Scoop a teaspoon of raspberry sorbet into a chilled flute. Then carefully pour 125 ml of Canei Bianco into the glass. Also delicious with a drinks board!

Ice ice baby

For those who really want to go alcohol-free, there’s Canei 0%. A lovely alternative to a glass of bubbly and the ideal partner in crime for mocktails. All Canei wines taste best served straight from the refrigerator or with ice cubes. Canei is available at all major supermarkets. Canei Bianco, Rosato and the new zero variety are available for just €3.79, while the Botanicals cost €4.49.
