Winebar of the Year 2016

Utrecht wine bar VinVin won the title Winebar of the Year 2016 at Horecava 2017. Wine bars have been popping up like mushrooms lately. And that is actually good news for everyone. Because the average café wine is still the best reason to order beer.

Wine bar VinVin ranked among the top 10 Best Wine Bars in the Netherlands for the third consecutive year. In addition to a professional jury, everyone could vote for their favorite wine bar. More than 5,300 people cast their vote in the annual Wine Bar of the Year election.

“A top establishment!” said the jury report, which was compiled by Sharon van Lokhorst (editor-in-chief of WINELIFE Magazine), Robert Verhoeven (founder of Wine Bars), Ron Vermeulen (hospitality expert and Food Market), Robert van Dijk (Coravin) and Hans van de Meeberg (Misset Horeca and SpecialBite). “The bar gets better every year. The wine list is fantastic and the atmosphere is relaxed. The passion and enthusiasm with which owner Julian explains more about the wines, together with the delicious bites, mean that you experience the entire wine experience here.”

Barrel Wijnlokaal (Groningen) and Stuyvesant Wijnlokaal (Amsterdam) finished in second and third place. Wijn bij Stijn (Den Bosch) received the encouragement award.

Each and every one is a place with an extensive selection of open wines and staff who know what they are talking about. So you can simply enjoy a drink with a good glass of wine instead of swill.
