You’ll want to make these: white chocolate pepernoten with Licor 43

Admittedly, I was also complaining a little when I saw pepernoten appearing on the shelves again. Because seriously, was it already September this year? A little early for my taste, but now that it’s increasingly pouring with rain, I’m completely fine with it. I curl up on the sofa with a blanket and a bag of pepernoten. You won’t hear me complaining anymore.

But if I’m going all out on those pepernoten, I want the very best. So, the ones with chocolate. And preferably only the ones with white chocolate (I always throw away the dark and milk chocolate ones).
Pepernoten + white chocolate + Licor 43 = heavenly
But now I’ve found a recipe that’s even more heavenly than those white chocolate pepernoten—namely, this one from the Airfryer cookbook. And honestly: hats off to them. It’s not difficult to make, looks incredibly delicious, and tastes that way too. They have a recipe in which you can make the pepernoten yourself, but I’m guessing that’s already too much work for many people (I’m mainly talking about myself here). So I’m simply going to buy the pepernoten and make that delicious layer of white chocolate and Licor 43 myself. In fact, I’m going to do it this weekend. The weather is going to be absolutely miserable anyway.
By the way, were you also surprised that this recipe is in an Airfryer cookbook? I was too; but apparently you can easily bake pepernoten in the Airfryer. You learn something new every day—and now I actually want to make the whole thing myself, because I’m quite curious about it.
