You’ve Been Grating Your Cheese Wrong Your Whole Life

Grating your own cheese is definitely tastier than ready-grated cheese. But honestly: the process is kind of a pain in the ass. The fumbling around with a grater and all the mess it creates. Meh.

First, there’s always the question: are you going for the coarse or the fine grater? I usually choose the large one because I’m impatient and it goes nice and fast. That leaves you with more time to clean up everything that has fallen next to the board.
But here’s the thing: if I’m to believe ‘the internet’, I’ve been grating my cheese wrong my entire life. How?! Well, I hold the grater upright and run the cheese along it. Pretty logical, right?
Wrong side
Apparently not, because a trick is now circulating on social media that makes life a whole lot easier: turn the grater on its side.
Bea Symons, a tattoo artist from England, shared the video on Twitter:
Ok, I was today years old when I found out THIS is how a cheese grater is used !? I feel a fool pic.twitter.com/OwE0Cvm8ZO

If you do it this way, the grater also immediately serves as a little collection dish. So simple, so logical, and something I had never thought of before. Anyway, make the most of it!
