Yvette at the Museum

Yvette van Boven was allowed to set up a mini-museum featuring kitchen utensils. Her selection of old pots and pans and other kitchen tools from all over the world will be on display at the Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam from November 3.

Yvette is a legend in our editorial office, and we can never get enough kitchen tools, so you get it: 1 + 1 = 2. We can’t wait to head to the museum.

Camel Neck
After searching through the museum’s storage, Van Boven selected a number of favorite pieces to display in her mini-museum. Among other things, she found a thermos flask made from a camel’s neck, a teapot made from a coconut, a spoon made from a water buffalo horn, and a remarkable oven from Papua New Guinea. We’re curious.
