Open day at Hokkai Kitchen

Japanese cuisine remains one of our absolute favorites. And you can discover on Sunday, July 16 that it extends far beyond just sushi, during the open day at Hokkai Kitchen in IJmuiden.

In case you don’t know Hokkai Kitchen yet: this may well be the best Japanese restaurant in the Netherlands. With the best quality fresh fish and the most delicious dishes. Black cod in miso, for example, or mackerel in mirin, as well as crispy deep-fried shrimp.
Michelin-star quality
It’s hardly surprising that the food is unbelievably good, since chef Kuniyoshi Ohtawara is in charge in the kitchen. If that name doesn’t ring a bell, he comes from the Okura, which means Michelin-star quality.
Tasting and cooking
At the open day, you’ll get to know Japanese cuisine better. You can take part in tastings of sake and typical Japanese dishes, for example. Or watch a cooking demonstration by the chef to see how everything is made. And of course, there will be plenty to taste.
The party runs from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free; check Facebook for more information.
