Free Shaved Ice!

Do you remember Neko Jusu? Two girls who made lemonade, inspired by Japanese culinary culture and their endless love of cats? The ladies will soon be launching a new product: kakigori. From 30 July through 1 August, you can taste it at their pop-up store, completely free of charge.

Perhaps you’ve heard of kakigori before. It’s a food trend that has been making the rounds in Japan, South Korea and Hawaii for a while now. In the Netherlands, we know shaved ice as it is eaten in Suriname. The Japanese version is also made with syrup, but stands out because of the use of various toppings such as coconut cream, matcha, condensed milk and fresh fruit. Deliciously refreshing!
