Baking with elderflower
Elderflower has made a breakthrough from hipster stalls to supermarket shelves, and we couldn’t be happier. We’ve rounded up the most delicious bakes with these white flowers for you.
For the recipes below, you can of course use fresh elderflower, but it’s hard to find – unless you go and pick it yourself. Fortunately, elderflower syrup is available everywhere.
Elderflower lemon cake
It may look like a simple country cake, but just wait until you take a bite. The cake is light and moist at the same time. The fresh lemon and elderflower make it the perfect recipe for spring.
Elderflower and honey donut holes
These little donut balls are dipped in St. Germain elderflower liqueur, but if you want to make the recipe without alcohol, syrup works too.
Pistachio, yogurt & elderflower cake
Jamie Oliver has done it again. Everything about this cake is delicious. Pistachio and yogurt go very well together, and the elderflower syrup completely finishes it off. Almost wedding-worthy in appearance.
Blackberry, mint and elderflower
This dessert looks beautiful, as if you spent hours in the kitchen making it. But that’s the beauty of a fool (a dessert made with yogurt, cream and fruit): it’s incredibly easy to make. We recommend simply using blackberries, but of course you can also opt for other summer fruits.
