How to prevent feeling bloated

Huffing and puffing at the table, a rounded stomach and the feeling that you have suddenly gone up two sizes. That can only mean one thing: a bloated feeling. This phenomenon is especially lurking during the holiday season. With these tips, you can make it from Christmas breakfast through lunch and on to dinner.

Ginger
We all know that ginger helps with nausea, which is why it is such a great hangover remedy. This root also comes in handy when you are feeling bloated. Ginger helps with your digestion and relaxes your intestines. Bring on that ginger tea.
Don’t lie down, walk
As tempting as it may be to lie down during an after (or even during) dinner dip, it really is better to go for a walk. This gets your digestion going and helps prevent heartburn. Besides, a refreshing walk away from the family chaos is always nice.
Sour face
Do you want to eat but can’t get anything down? There is a chance you have a stomach acid deficiency. Stomach acid helps with digestion, and a deficiency can lead to a bloated feeling. To get rid of it, you can drink a glass of water with a tablespoon of (apple cider) vinegar.
Chew caraway
Have you really been defeated by the food? Then something simply has to come out. Chew on fresh caraway seeds, as they provide enormous relief. For those around you, it is of course more considerate to try this tip only at home.
Digestif
A digestif after dinner is not only delicious but can also help with that full feeling. A particularly bitter amaro does the trick. These are our favorite after-dinner drinks.
