Other things you can use mayo for

Mayonnaise with your fries or on your frikandel, on your sandwich or mixed into egg salad. Mayo is our best friend, and you can use it for so much more than the standard things. These are the most unexpected ways to use up your mayo.

Chocolate cake
Just as beer can improve batter, mayonnaise can do the same. Normally, you add eggs and butter or eggs and oil to cakes, but mayonnaise contains both eggs and fat, and also makes the cake extra moist. And that is, of course, exactly what you want a chocolate cake to be.
Grilled cheese
The slight tanginess in mayonnaise is precisely what your grilled cheese with salty, fatty cheese needs. Spread a generous layer of mayo on the outside of your sandwich before frying it in the pan. This gives you the ultimate crispy crust, and the mayo also nestles nicely into the air pockets in your bread. Hmm…
Mashed potatoes
Normally, if it were up to us, you would add a generous knob of butter and some milk to the mash. But a dollop of fatty mayo can also make for creamy mashed potatoes. And once again, the tanginess of the mayonnaise gives your potatoes just that little something extra. If you can’t choose, you can of course simply use milk, butter and mayo, too.

Grilled fish / chicken / burgers
Nothing is more annoying than trying to turn your fish on the barbecue, only for it to be completely stuck and fall apart through the grate. Such a shame! To prevent this, spread mayo on the outside of your fish, or your chicken or burgers. The meat stays soft, juicy and tender (again thanks to the acidity), and most importantly: it won’t stick. You’re welcome.
