So, Christmas is over for another year. Today is the day to let your stomach recover: time to flop down on the sofa and happily look back on the past few days. We’ve got your meal plan for these days all ready for you:

Breakfast: granola

Say goodbye to the elaborate Christmas breakfast with rolls, croissants, Christmas stollen and sugar bread. Time to go back to having a bowl of yoghurt or quark with granola for breakfast. Here’s how to make granola from your boring muesli.

Snack with Jet: banana bread with walnuts and cranberries

The occasional snack is always a good idea, and with this banana bread from our dear friend Jet, you’re not doing too badly at all.

Lunch: pumpkin soup with saffron croutons

There’s nothing better than escaping the cold indoors and warming up on the sofa under a blanket with a bowl of soup in your hands. Especially when it’s this pumpkin soup. With croutons.

Snack with Jonneke: tamriah with nuts and dates

A little more work, but very tasty and definitely worth the effort. You’ll also get rid of that nut overload in the kitchen drawer right away.

Dinner: flammkuchen with pesto and eel

Time for a light dinner. This flammkuchen with Old Amsterdam, pesto and eel is a favourite at Jonnie and Thérèse Boer’s home, and now it’s a favourite of yours too.

Dessert: hangop

Make it as sweet as you like. Use plenty of red fruit and not too much sugar, and this is the perfect dessert to round off this light post-Christmas day of balance.
