Who in the Netherlands didn’t grow up with a lunchbox in their backpack? It was always a surprise when the school bell rang at 12:00. What would be inside today? In my case, my sandwiches were always accompanied by a carton of Wicky and a Brinky; that cookie still gives me nostalgic feelings. Not exactly a healthy lunch, but positively wholesome compared to what some children are served..
It’s no shock that schools in America serve unhealthy lunches. But what is it like in the rest of the world? In some countries, children are treated to delicious, healthy lunches at school, or even entire rice-table spreads.
