24 hours in Den Bosch

Het werkwarenhuis in Den Bosch echt een hotspot

In lovely Den Bosch, it’s easy to keep yourself entertained for an entire day. But where should you go to eat? FavorFlav lists the best places, from breakfast to dinner—or perhaps even a dance?

Breakfast: Robbies Café

For breakfast, head to Robbies. Go for delicious croissants or yogurt with fresh fruit and granola. The atmosphere is great; Robbies is reminiscent of a classic Parisian bistro and, besides being a lunch and coffee hotspot, is also a lovely department store where you can do a little shopping. Already had breakfast? Then just have a slice of cake. It’s exceptionally good here. Robbies, Verwersstraat 33

Lunch: BUURT

Have lunch at BUURT. For example, try the tuna tataki sandwich with seaweed pesto, ginger and Japanese mayonnaise, or curry croquettes on bread. If you’re very hungry, go for the BUURT burger with fries. This is the ideal spot for an extensive lunch, a lazy Sunday afternoon with games, or an extensive drinks session on the spacious terrace. BUURT, Koningsweg 100

Drinks: Wijn bij Stijn

Wijn bij Stijn was named Wine Bar of the Year 2017. And rightly so, because Stijn has fifty different wines that he talks about with great enthusiasm and expertise. Stijn also serves the very best chorizo croquettes, delicious cheeses, a mean fish platter and excellent charcuterie. Very hungry? You can always count on the changing daily special, and anyone who wants to learn more about different wine regions can sign up for a wine course or tasting. Wijn bij Stijn, Kruisstraat 35

Dinner: Citrus

If you value the ultimate price-quality ratio, head to Citrus. The menu changes regularly at this small French-Mediterranean restaurant, but the fact that you can eat wonderfully there never changes. A favorite is the duck liver soup with dark chocolate and truffle. The hostess and sommelier pours the perfect wine with every dish. At Citrus, you can have a three-course menu for €35. Dancing: Van Aken at the Werkwarenhuis

If you can still dance after all that food, head to Van Aken at the Werkwarenhuis. In this old factory within walking distance of the station, things really get going every Friday and Saturday night, with both local Bossche DJs and (inter)national acts. Food festivals are also regularly organized here, and you can eat very well too. And everything here is pink, pink! Van Aken at the Werkwarenhuis, Tramkade 20-24
