We announced earlier that a new food hall is coming to Magna Plaza. We went to the pre-opening and, man, was everything delicious. So here are our top 3 at The Food Department—go ahead and add them to your to-do list.

The Food Department at Magna Plaza officially opens on May 6, but you can already drop by for a bite to eat or a delicious snack.

Within half an hour, our table was covered with oysters, poké bowls, tacos and Greek mini lamb sandwiches. With so much food, we didn’t know where to start, but after a serious effort (read: after eating everything), we can confidently crown the following three food stands our favorites:

1. LIMALIMA

The absolute highlight was undoubtedly the Nikkei cuisine at food stand LIMALIMA. We were served a tuna tartare roll and, man, was it delicious: tender tuna on top of a mound of rice with a spicy sauce poured over it. The Nikkei cuisine is a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine.

2. China Supreme

In second place are the homemade ‘biangbiang’ noodles from China Supreme. These aren’t the standard noodles you know from the Asian supermarket, but thick homemade noodles in a clear beef broth. The thick strands of dough are stretched apart right in front of you with considerable muscle power, so it’s definitely worth a visit.

3. Sushito

The poké bowls from Sushito were also fantastic. Especially the Jumping Shrimps bowl with fried shrimp and crab salad. Plenty of fish in every bite—delicious. The crunchy seaweed, avocado, cucumber, white cabbage and wasabi mayonnaise paired perfectly with it. We’ll definitely order that bowl again.

Besides the top three, we also had classic pepperoni pizza from Toni Loco, a roasted chicken from Van ‘t Spit, delicious Greek street food treats from Lios and, for dessert, a freakshake from Matts Wonderland.
