4x ontbijten in Den Bosch

Weekend away or simply a hungry resident of Den Bosch? However you ended up here, these are the places to get the best breakfasts in Den Bosch.

BUURT

The atmosphere—yes, that atmosphere at BUURT is exactly what you want on an early Saturday morning. A lovely interior, friendly staff and good coffee. Add a newspaper and a croissant and you need nothing else. Plus: if you hang around long enough (or stay in bed long enough), you can order the Buurtburger from the lunch menu at 12:00, because you’ll want to. BUURT, Koningsweg 100

Robbies Café

In this department store cum breakfast and lunch café, you’ll imagine yourself in a chic Parisian bistro. At least as long as you don’t look outside and see that the place next door is simply called Ome Bernard. Even better than the breakfast here are the cakes. The Gâteau aux Noix is an absolute favourite. What’s more, during the Sunday brunch (do reserve) you can already be enjoying œufs brouillés à la truffe and bœuf bourguignon around lunchtime. Robbies, Verwersstraat 33

Nescio

At Nescio, you can enjoy a lazy Sunday breakfast every Sunday. The Eggs Benedict are worth writing home about, although the toasted sourdough with raw-milk cheese from Remeker is a favourite. More in the mood for something sweet? Go for the American pancakes with bacon or the blueberry version with maple syrup. Bonus: even the most die-hard Den Bosch resident never tires of the view of the Sint-Jan from here. Nescio, Hinthamerstraat 80

Plus: if you hang around long enough (or stay in bed long enough), you can order the Buurtburger at 12:00

Eetbar DIT

Nothing in the house but craving an old-fashioned, generously laid table with boiled eggs, fruit, fresh orange juice, bread rolls, cheese and cold cuts—not to mention hagelslag? Then choose an extensive breakfast at Eetbar DIT. If you like, they’ll serve it with a glass of bubbly, paracetamol or a morning-after pill (at the daily rate). Fully equipped for every eventuality. Eetbar DIT, Snellestraat 24 and 26
