5 Starbucks hacks if you want a few fewer calories

I’m not a huge coffee lover, the kind of person who has already downed three espressos before noon, but I can really enjoy a Chai Latte from time to time. Or a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Those hipster drinks, I know, and incredibly sweet too, but sometimes they’re just so delicious. And SO UNHEALTHY. I don’t even want to know how many calories I’m consuming with them…

Yes, Starbucks is delicious… But healthy is another story. Fortunately, there are some solutions that help you keep that calorie bomb somewhat under control. Here they are: Starbucks hacks to make it all a little healthier.
1. Go for a different type of milk
No regular milk for me anyway, because I’m completely #teamoat, but Starbucks also has skinny milk. In other words, milk with only 2% fat. That makes quite a difference.
2. Reduce your pumps of syrup
You do have to request this separately, but it really saves a lot: each ‘pump’ of syrup contains around 20 calories and five grams of sugar. Pretty intense, especially when you consider that the largest size contains as many as six. Unless you simply ask them to add less. Handy!
3. Better leave out the syrup altogether
That syrup is simply bad for you, that’s clear. So instead of syrup, you’d be better off choosing spices, such as vanilla or matcha. Much healthier, hardly any calories and delicious too.
4. Choose an iced coffee
Very simple, but true: some of the calories are replaced by ice. It can easily save you 70 calories per coffee, so do the math.
5. Don’t fall for the sugar-free syrups
They contain other bad things instead, such as artificial sweeteners—and you don’t want to consume too much of those either. So don’t think that a sugar-free syrup is a much healthier alternative.
