Dining in Utrecht? Where on earth should you start looking for a good restaurant? There are so many lovely places these days. As far as we’re concerned, these five restaurants should not be missed.

WT Urban Kitchen
An intimate and chic restaurant is hidden on the ninth and tenth floors of Utrecht’s water tower. Because of the height, you have a beautiful view of the city. In fact, it isn’t that hidden after all: if you want to make a reservation, I would start in good time, as the restaurant is always fully booked weeks in advance. And that’s definitely not just because of the view.

Simple.
Last year, they moved from Lange Nieuwstraat to a unique spot next to the Dom Tower. Read here about our experience at Simple. Spoiler alert: by the end of the evening, we rolled out of the restaurant more than satisfied.

De Goedheyd
The French-international cuisine has never tasted so good. At De Goedheyd, you can enjoy classic dishes such as meadow-raised beef carpaccio and a good tournedos, but always of the very best quality. The chefs prefer to work with seasonal products. You can choose for yourself: à la carte or a surprise menu.

Restaurant Karel 5
Elegant dining in a medieval dining hall in the heart of Utrecht. The members of the monastery brotherhood went before you. Where they ate silently hundreds of years ago, you can now enjoy a wonderful dinner in a chic yet relaxed atmosphere. Here too, you can enjoy classics in an authentic setting, such as sea bass with ginger beer or venison with student trail mix.

Het Ketelhuis
A special place: until the beginning of last year, the factory was still in full operation. And you can still see that today. Nowadays, you can go there for an extensive dinner. To whet your appetite, here is an example menu: oyster – red mullet – potato – sweetbread – guinea fowl – pear. In summer, you can enjoy the food and sunshine on the terrace by the water.
