5x savory cooking with peanut butter

pad thai

Peanut butter is delicious on bread. With chocolate sprinkles, colorful sprinkles, cucumber, cress or sambal, we really don’t mind. Peanut butter is also great to use in your evening meal. Especially many Asian dishes benefit from a little peanut. We collected five recipes to satisfy your peanut butter cravings.

Chili sin carne

Not Asian, but rather South American. We already knew that the craziest things can really elevate a chili dish (chocolate, coffee, beer, cinnamon). But did you know that peanut butter is one of those things? Now you do. Just stir some peanut butter through your beans for that rich, fatty peanut flavor. Hmm.

Summer rolls with peanut (butter) sauce

In Vietnamese cuisine, peanuts regularly make an appearance. You can also put them loose inside the summer roll, but that is just a bit awkward to eat. More convenient and tastier is this dipping sauce made with, among other things, hoisin and peanut butter.

Chicken with basil and mint

A Thai chicken dish from the wok can never really go wrong. But you can make it more special than you normally would. For example, by adding plenty of fresh basil and mint. Or by adding peanut butter to your sauce (again together with hoisin). You still have to come up with the vegetables yourself. We would probably go for steamed bimi and sugar snaps.

Peanut butter chicken

Off to India. This is a little like an Indian chicken curry, and perhaps it is one. You use garam masala and coconut milk for the sauce, but of course that is not all. You also add generous spoonfuls of peanut butter. Delicious with basmati rice.

Pad Thai

We’re heading back to Thailand for this pad Thai. You have undoubtedly made previous attempts at preparing pad Thai, and there is always some peanut in it. Here it is found both in the sauce and in your dish in the form of loose peanuts. Vegetarian with tofu, but just as delicious with tempeh, shrimp or chicken.
