A new way to store food

Do you also always throw away half of the contents of your fridge? Simply because you no longer know how long it has been there, or because it has gone rotten or is past its expiration date? If designer Jihyun David has anything to do with it, that will never happen again. 

With her project Save Food From The Fridge, David wants us to throw away less food by storing products outside the fridge. When we put food in the fridge, after all, we hide all the ingredients and forget what is actually in there.

David has therefore developed shelves on which you can store food visibly. She has also added all kinds of features that allow you, for example, to see how fresh your eggs still are (also see the main photo above this article).

The shelves are not yet available in stores, but David is working on setting up a crowdfunding campaign. The design is expected to go into production at the end of this year.
