According to research, this is how many pizza slices the average person eats in their lifetime

pizza

In my opinion, it doesn’t matter what your favorite food is, whether you eat a lot of meat or fish, or go through life as a vegetarian or vegan: everyone loves pizza. I honestly can’t imagine there being anyone who absolutely doesn’t like pizza. Maybe it happens occasionally, for example if you don’t like cheese, but I really can’t think of another reason…

Because what’s not to like about pizza? Such an airy crust—delicious. But I can also be very happy with a deep-pan pizza. And then there’s the cheese: yes please, and a good tomato sauce; yeeheees please. But even a bad pizza is still pizza, and therefore good enough anyway — lovers will understand this.

And we eat quite a lot of pizza in our lifetime

According to research conducted by Tabasco Brand, we eat an average of 5,208 pizza slices in our lifetime. An average pizza has six slices, which comes to approximately 868 pizzas in your lifetime. Sounds like a lot, but we did some more calculations, and if you live to be 70 and start eating pizza at the age of six, that works out to around 13.5 pizzas per year. That’s still pretty manageable, right? During my student days, I definitely exceeded the annual average by quite a bit.

This research was conducted among 2,000 participants, 12 percent of whom said they eat up to three slices per week. They mostly ate them between 6 and 8 p.m. Sounds logical enough, since that’s dinnertime.

Pizza more popular than kebab

But pizza is hugely popular: 40 percent said they generally prefer pizza over other evening meals, and another 18 percent said they would rather reach for a slice of pizza than other comfort snack food such as kebab. That’s very good news, because 42 percent said pizza makes them very happy — and I completely agree.

And these percentages probably won’t decrease, because no fewer than 83 percent said they don’t regret for a moment the amount of pizza they eat. Those are pretty convincing figures: pizza simply makes us genuinely happy.
