Are Cas and his interpreter a couple?
Were you also so sad when Cas had to leave the tent on Heel Holland Bakt? You weren’t alone, but besides melancholy, his departure also caused quite a stir. Because what’s the story with his interpreter? Are the two dating?
Cas, from Limburg, is completely deaf, so he needed an interpreter to take part in the program. How else would he know what the technical challenge was, or how much time he had left? The lucky person who was allowed to enter the tent with him every week was Wieke. The two had such a great time together that the whole of the Netherlands soon began talking about a possible relationship. RTL Nieuws investigated.
I’ll quickly take you out of that dream: Cas (23) and Wieke (24) are just friends. “We are not a couple and we don’t live together either,” Cas tells RTL Nieuws. “And we’re not in love either,” Wieke adds. What’s more, Wieke has a boyfriend and doesn’t even live in the same city. She lives in The Hague, while Cas lives in Roermond.
A beautiful friendship
After Cas had to leave the tent, both of them were inundated with messages from fans hoping that the two were a couple. However disappointed those fans may be by this news, a very beautiful friendship did come out of it. “We’ve built a beautiful friendship. Cas now invites me as a person, and no longer just as his interpreter.” You really can get a lot out of baking after all…
