At this pop-up restaurant, you bid on your favorite dish

De Spijsveiling

Forget the menu and bring out the auction paddles, because from July 11 to 14, the second edition of the Spijsveiling will take place in Den Bosch. The what? A pop-up restaurant where you determine what’s on your menu through an auction. Nothing is set in stone and everything can be tailored to your preferences.

At the Spijsveiling, the food is in the spotlight all evening. Because each dish has a story: from its origin to the way it is prepared. There’s no waiter handing you a menu, but there is an auctioneer. What should you expect from such an evening?

Bid away

Every evening, the Mariakapel in ‘s-Hertogenbosch has room for eighty people. A ticket costs one hundred euros, and when you arrive, you get this money back in the form of auction currency. The evening will be infused with Burgundian flair, featuring delicious food, good wines and surprising extras put up for auction.

All the choice

You’ll hear what the options are when you arrive. Each course consists of four choices, which you can bid on. Together with your tablemates, you come up with a strategy for getting through the evening during each round. Do you wait for the main-course options, or can you simply not resist that one starter? Hands up and start bidding! Either way, you’re guaranteed an all-inclusive four-course menu.

Once, twice… sold!

And the tickets certainly are sold. The first edition of the Spijsveiling by the Spijsbereiders in February was such a huge success that the tickets sold out in no time. There was delicious food, plenty to drink, lots of laughter and some sly bidding strategies were deployed. Because when it comes to good food, the battle is on!

Tickets are available now, so be quick.
