Just when we thought we were done with it, we suddenly came across the ‘Avolato’. Part avocado, part gelato. It can’t get any crazier.

The avolato was the brainchild of Snowflake, an ice cream giant with locations in London and Barcelona. So far, the avocado ice cream is only available at Selfridges in London. The ice cream looks like an avocado, but it isn’t one. The green part is made from fresh avocado, grape sugar and lemon juice. The pit in the middle is recreated with ice cream made from Brazil nuts, almonds, walnuts and peanut butter. Completely vegan, too.

Get it

The ice cream shop makes only 100 avolatos a day, so get there early. First, you’ll have to decide whether it’s worth the wait and the money—it costs £9.50. That’s about €10.77, which is bizarre. Curious about how the ice cream shop makes them? See for yourself.
