Beware: Albert Heijn warns about Häagen-Dazs ice cream again (and it concerns multiple varieties)

Recently, Albert Heijn issued a food warning concerning my beloved Häagen-Dazs ice cream. Ethylene oxide may have ended up in the Vanilla ice cream. And now you need to check your freezer again, because several varieties of Häagen-Dazs ice cream may contain the toxic substance 2-chloroethanol (2CE), reports the NVWA (the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority).

According to the NVWA, the vanilla flavouring added to the ice cream may contain ‘minimal levels’ of the toxic substance.
I’m still alive
There is no reason for acute panic just yet, I can tell you from a reliable source. For me, the warning came too late and I’m still alive. But prevention is better than cure, so pay attention.
The varieties being recalled are Belgian Chocolate (460 ml and 95 ml), Macadamia Nut Brittle (460 ml), Praline & Cream (460 ml) and Duo Vanilla Hazelnut & Caramel Crunch (420 ml).
